π Speed Survey π We recently carried out a series of roadside speed surveys across Knockin, Pant and Maesbrook. These checks form part of our ongoing commitment to improving road safety and responding to concerns raised by local residents.
Knockin Surveys were completed on both approaches to the village: β’ Northbound: 51 vehicles recorded, with an average speed of 28.62 mph and 3 vehicles exceeding the limit. β’ Southbound: 50 vehicles recorded, average speed 29.42 mph, with 7 vehicles found speeding. While the majority of drivers remain compliant, we will continue to monitor this location due to the small number of higherβend speeds observed. A483 Pant Both directions showed excellent compliance: β’ Northbound: 51 vehicles, average 24.62 mph, 0 speeding. β’ Southbound: 48 vehicles, average 23.77 mph, 0 speeding. These results are very positive and indicate that drivers are consistently travelling at safe speeds through Pant. Maesbrook Traffic volumes were lower here, but speeds remained steady: β’ Northbound: 21 vehicles, average 31.65 mph, 0 speeding. β’ Southbound: 23 vehicles, average 31.19 mph, 0 speeding. Although average speeds sit just above 30 mph, no vehicles were recorded above the enforcement threshold.
Overall, the surveys show good levels of compliance across the area, with only a small number of speeding vehicles identified in Knockin. The SNT will continue to carry out periodic checks and work with local communities to address any emerging concerns.
If you have any issues youβd like to raise with the team, please get in touch via the usual channels. We remain committed to keeping our rural roads safe for everyone.
